Don't have access to a piano? Need to warm-up before an audition or performance? The Mobile Warm-Ups App lets you do a vocal warm-up anywhere or anytime from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
The Mobile Warm-Ups App has two modes. You can either do an instant warm-up or you can construct a custom set of exercises for a specific warm-up that you can save and repeat.
Main Screen (iPhone/iPod) / Warm-Ups List (iPad)
The main screen / list contains the list of your warm-ups. The list contains the Instant Warm-Up and all of your custom created warm-ups. The first item is always the Instant Warm-Up. The Instant Warm-up can not be deleted.
To create a new Custom Warm-Up, tap the + on the navigation bar. Tap on any warm-up in the list to go to a screen that allows you to play the warm-up.
To delete a Custom Warm-Up, swipe the warm-up that you would like to delete. A Delete button will appear. Tap the delete button and the warm-up is deleted.
Instant Warm-Up
The Instant Warm-Up screen allows you to play an exercise quickly. Select the pattern you want, the starting note range and the tempo. Press the play button and off you go.
Custom Warm-Ups
Custom Warm-Ups allow you to create a warm-up to meet a specific need. Custom Warm-Ups consist of a name and list of exercises. You can create as many exercises in each warm-up that you want or need.
Tap the name cell to edit the name of the warm-up. Tap a specific exercise to edit the exercise. Tap the "Add New Exercise" cell to create a new exercise for the warm-up. Tap the "-" circle to delete an exercise. The exercises can be re-ordered by pressing the three bars on the right and dragging the exercise to the desired position.
Each exercise in a Custom Warm-Up consists of 5 elements:
- Production
- Pattern
- Starting Notes
- Tempo
- and Progression.
The production value contains what noise you want to make for a given exercise. For example, "La La La" or "Ticky Tacky" etc... Taping the cell for production opens a screen for entering or selecting a value.
You can either type in a value directly or select a value from the Quick Pick List. We supply 5 values in the Quick Pick List initially but you can add your own by tapping the "+" by the list. (You can also delete quick pick values by swiping the item the same way you can delete a warm-up in the main screen.)
